Flowers and some shrubs begin to die in the fall, eliminating some of the color in your yard. Planting trees rich in color can add beauty to your yard in the autumn season. When photosynthesis ends, the leaves lose their green color and change into shades of red, brown, and gold before eventually falling off the tree in the winter.

Dogwoods, Red maples, & Hawthorne trees will add shades of red to your yard this autumn. For golden hues in your yard this fall, plant Ash trees, Birches, or Sugar maples. Sassafras trees and Katsuratrees will color your yard with shades of orange.
