Hydroseeding Quickly Provides a Luscious Lawn
So you have an area in your yard where you would like to have grass and are wondering about your options. Hydroseeding is a  process for planting grass that involves spraying a slurry evenly over the area where the lawn is desired. The slurry is a combination of grass seed, mulch, fertilizer, and a tackifier. It is especially effective on slopes, where it is difficult for manually planted seeds and sod to gain hold and is very effective in overseeding existing lawns to fill in bare spots and make them more robust.
The ingredients of the slurry combine to quickly produce results, with initial growth occurring within a week and a healthy lawn appearing within two to three weeks. The mulch protects the seeds from erosion, wind, and hungry birds while keeping them moist then it breaks down to combine with the fertilizer to feed the new grass. The tackifier is a natural adhesive that helps keep the seeds in place, which is especially helpful on slopes. While hydroseeding is very effective, it still depends on properly preparing the area to be seeded and proper care for it once it has been applied.
