Synthetic Grass: A Product of Many Uses

While some types of artificial grass are so authentic looking that you have to look quite closely to actually distinguish them from the real thing, others can be easily identified as types of artificial grass, synthetic grasssynthetic grass almost immediately. Synthetic Grass for Lawns

These types of artificial grass are usually installed by an artificial grass contractor. They are manufactured with one primary goal: to resemble real grass as closely as possible. Synthetic grass products designed for lawn use generally have a few characteristics in common. Firstly, they come in colors that are similar to those found in natural lawns, such as emerald and olive. Some also contain multiple shades of green, which gives an authentic look. Generally, the pile, the fibers that protrude from the surface, is fairly long. Piles longer than 35 mm are common. Synthetic Grass for Putting Greens

Synthetic grass designed for backyard putting greens will provide a good playing surface and resist denting. Like synthetic grass designed for lawns, however, it is usually a shade of green. Since many putting greens are located outside, these types of artificial grass are made from durable, weather-resistant materials that will withstand frequent use. A typical pile height might be about 15 mm, which is considerably less than synthetic landscape grass.


Types of Artificial Grass: Pool, Patio, and Display

Synthetic grass may be a bit of a misnomer for these products. They can often be found around pools or on patios. They are also frequently used in displays. Unlike the other ttypes of artificial grass, synthetic grassypes of artificial grass, these products usually do not resemble real grass at all. They come in a wide variety of colors other than green, including blue, red, orange, and even white. The pile is quite short, and may be as little as 6mm in length. They often have a rough texture, and many types are not durable. Those designed for display purposes, for example, are intended only for very light or short-term use.


Choosing the Best Synthetic Grass

Picking the best synthetic grass is mainly a matter of knowing what types of artificial grass are out there and figuring out exactly what you want from the product. If you want a putting green surface, you must be able to tell what types of grass would be suitable for this purpose, but you also have to choose a good quality product that will look great in your yard. Considering that purchasing many types of artificial grass will require a substantial financial investment, this is not a decision that should be rushed.
